I started playing basketball when I was in 4th grade and it was love at first bucket! My hunger to get better has grown each and every year. I believe by working to get better personally, the whole team will improve. I have been on very good, competitive teams and I have been on noncompetitive teams. I learned a lot when we won a game, and I learned even more when we lost a game. There were big losses and there were 2 point losses, but when I could learn something specific from that experience, it didn't feel so much like a loss. My mother is always telling me that its not what happens to me that makes the difference, but how I choose to respond. Learning from a loss, makes it feel more like a win. I also learned that as a team, we are in it together-we can either tear each other down or build each other up. The team is more to me than anything else , we are a family and we should have each others backs on and off the court. I take full pride in every thing I do, whether it's a simple pick up game or a championship game, I will give 110% percent effort.
I'd really like to be in an environment I can thrive in. My main goal in life is to simply be happy and I'd like to be able to help others. At this point, I am hoping to become an Orthopedic Surgeon because I'd like the opportunity to help athletes who have been injured. That would be a way I could give back to the sports community which has added so much to my life.
I realize that life can be difficult but I am willing to push myself in order to become the best version of myself. I wouldn't dare let anything get in the way of following my dreams.
