I am the ultimate team player and will always make plays that are best for the team. I have loved and played basketball since I was 5 years old. As a freshman I started on the JV team and have been on our varsity basketball team at Wylie High School since my sophomore year. This past 2016-17 school year our school moved out of District 5A into one of the most prominent and competitive 6A Districts in the state of Texas; with schools twice our size and with resumes spouting many Texas State Championships. It was a very difficult year and we didn’t make it to playoffs but we persisted and came together as a team to hold our own and win some of the games. Many of the losses were by mere points and often went into overtime.
Hard work, discipline and a willingness to do what it takes to win have made me realize that basketball is a game of the mind, not just great athletes freelancing their way to wins. I’m not the biggest or fastest, but I know how offenses and defenses can be predictable and that leads to avenues for aggressive successful plays on both sides of the ball. I learn more each time I take the court. I often play different positions on my high school team than I do on my AAU team and can play the 2 thru 5 positions. This year I was voted on the All District second team and was voted the offensive player of the year by my teammates. I have the character, determination and the work ethic to be a leader on any college team.
