Personal Statement
My hi-light video’s have been evaluated by Tom Kuyper. My AAU Coach is Garth Belue, I’ve played on his club for 2 seasons and he also was my assistant coach in Junior High, he’s literally watched me grow up in the sport and knows what I’m capable of better than anyone. The NBA legend, Rafer Alston has trained me and I played on his elite club for a couple of years as well.
Both of my parents were college athletes; my Dad played football, and my Mom played basketball. Both of my parents have coached me at one time or another. Both parents have instilled in me what it takes to be a college athlete.
I have a great work ethic, and I intentionally work harder and longer than anyone. My Dad tells me every day to "be a leader, not a follower." It has sunk in after hearing it every day of my life! All of my coaches have told me that “I'm extremely coachable, have an incredibly high basketball I.Q., have a great court sense, & see the floor very well.”
My parents have been married for 21+ years (as of Feb 2019,) and they have modeled the importance of commitment and hard work. They are very supportive of me and my older sibling. I'm actively involved with my youth group at church; faith plays a big role in my life. I attended a College Prep School, Faith West Academy in Katy, Texas for 9 years. The school honor code is Reverence, Respect & Responsibility - Reverence for God, Respect for myself, others and those in authority, and taking Responsibility for my own actions. After attending Faith West Academy since pre-school; the honor code is just part of who I am now. I now attend James E. Taylor High School, in Katy Texas.
I was honored to be nominated as one of 15 finalists (out of 1700+ male, Texas Athletes) for the Texas High School Christian Athlete of the Year 2018. I received the Founders Award, and Olympic Great, Carl Lewis presented the award to me this past March (2019) at a prestigious awards banquet in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. I attempt to live my life by example, and it was amazing to be recognized as such.
