My dream has always been to play college basketball at any level. One of my goals for college is to earn a degree in Mathematics and minor in Education. I would like to coach and teach math at the high school level and eventually at the college level. I believe I am a good candidate for a college basketball team because of my passion and love for the game. Whenever I set a goal for myself, I will reach that goal and will not stop until I do so. I also feel that leadership is important in a successful team. I try to lead by example. I do not ask my teammates to do something, unless I am willing to do it myself. As for character, I have firm beliefs that I live by and very rarely let others influence me to go against these beliefs. As a Christian athlete, I try my best to have a positive influence on other's lives through my actions and words. For athletics, I believe I am coachable and willing to take constructive criticism to better myself. I also have been a part of many teams, so I know what it takes to be a team. I believe that a good teammate is one who not only builds others up, but also is willing to do anything to not let the others down. Other than basketball, I have also been blessed to receive All-state honors in football and All-region honors in cross country and track. I feel that being successful in other sports has helped me to become a better teammate and basketball player. For academics, I feel that I am a good student. I typically receive A's and B's in school. I feel that academics are a huge part in a student's life. Not only does education give you a degree for the future, it also teaches self-discipline and responsibility. I have learned this first hand as I will graduate from high school with 30 college hours. I am also a member of the National Honor Society. If selected to play college basketball, I hope to be a good role model for others. I have always admired and wanted to be like athletes who lived their dream while putting God first in their lives. To me, this would be achieving my greatest aspirations.
