Raymond Ruiz '24 Recruiting Profile

My dream as a kid was to always be a NBA player like every other kid but I know my skills limit me to a certain competitive level. However as my high school career ends I would like to continue my basketball journey by playing in college and pursuing my major. As a 5’10 guard, I’m a pass first player that is always looking for a way to help my teammates so they can score the ball. While also being a great shooter,I do have my struggles with finishing at the rim. With that I always continue to practice so I can put my best foot forward on the court. However on the defensive end I am very quick defender, always sprinting to my spot and have a great ability to steal the ball. Which allows me to be an overall better defensive player on the court. Furthermore, when it comes to taking corrections I am very open minded while also keeping a friendly attitude and competitive mindset with my teammates. Im always open to constructive criticism to better my game of basketball. While also being academically determined to put my best foot forward off the court to not only motivate myself but my teammates around me.
