Personal Statement
My passion for playing basketball began in elementary school. In middle school, I began seriously training because my dream was and is to play college basketball. From my trainers and coaches, I have learned not only the physical aspects of the game but the mental. Theh have taught me how to be a stronger, faster and smarter player, both offensively and defensively. I have developed better court IQ and decision-making abilities and understand that being a leader and being able to encourage, motivate and support teammates is as important as scoring buckets.
I am very coachable and willing to listen. I am extremely hardworking and hustle on the court. I work on something basketball-related every day. I work out in the weight room, practice my shooting and ball handling , go to practice, run, train with my trainers, and read books on how to be a mentally stronger and more confident athlete.
Even when I‘m disappointed or am having a bad day, I try to have a positive mindset and dig deeper instead of getting down on myself. I have learned to use my basketball mentality in my academic life, like setting priorities and being self-disciplined.
I intend to major in exercise science to become a physical therapist, athletic trainer or chiropractor so I can help other athletes.
Thank you for reading my profile and considering me as a prospective player.
