Basketball has always been a part of my life, and I aspire to play basketball at the collegiate level so I will be able to complete my education while also continuing to play the sport which I have dedicated so much of my life to. Basketball has been such an important part of my life as it has taught me life lessons such as working hard for results, being on time, respecting others and their decisions, and most importantly becoming a leader. I have always been reliable when it comes to practices and games, as I feel that attendance is a key aspect of being part of a team. Basketball has taught me to listen to others' input and take every option into consideration when practicing or playing in games. As well as aiding in the development of these skills, basketball has allowed me to show myself as a leader while on the court. I watch and adapt to every play and situation to find what is the best way to accomplish my goal. As I played on my high school's varsity team during my Sophomore year, I had to adapt to the changes my life would have. While being on the varsity team allowed me to display and develop my skills, I needed to attend more games and practices as well as an extensive amount of school work to be done. Basketball provided me with an opportunity to better myself both in school and on the court. While playing for that varsity team and any other years prior I have been able to maintain remarkable grades and continue to add to my education by staying proficient in subjects such as math and physics. I have always been persistent in my goals within school and basketball and I am willing to put in any amount of work to be able to reach them.
