Personal Statement
Winning, competing and improving. These are the things I love to do. I consider myself a fierce competitor that hates to lose in anything and will do everything within my power and morals to win. With this competitive fire though, I have learned to take past experiences and losses and use them to fuel myself to be the best player I can be. The game of basketball means the world to me. My passion for the game of basketball is rivaled only by my faith and my academic performance. I love everything about the game from practice to watching film and working out. The highlight of my basketball high school career was becoming a state finalist as a senior and going further than any other team in my schools history. I am the type of person that leads by example more than being just a vocal leader and the type of guy that is not afraid to be a leader no matter the circumstances around me.
Academically I will pursue a career in communications as an aspiring journalist and public relations executive. While researching for this profession, I quickly learned that word choice and integrity is key. I have learned over the years how to choose my words wisely and use a certain tone or diction to get my point across. I believe that this is important because everybody doesn't receive or react to information or criticism the same way which translates on the court and in the classroom. I also strive to be a reliable and trustworthy person that relies on my morals and strong background.
