The details and intricacies of my character are those built upon the foundation of tenacity and hard work. Ever since I’ve grown to maturity, I’ve strived to be the very best at everything and anything I do, no matter how important or unimportant they may seem to anyone else. This has been a major driving factor in my determination to succeed in both academics and athletics. Academically, throughout my entire high school career, I’ve been within the top 5-10% of my highly competitive high school. Athletically, I’ve thrived within a multitude of programs. My freshman, sophomore, and junior year I’ve started for the varsity basketball team and played a significant role on the team. Additionally, I was the varsity team captain of my high school basketball team in my junior year.

My hobbies outside of basketball are heavily influenced by my competitiveness and desire to challenge myself. One of my more recent hobbies has been boxing. Boxing is a fine art that emphasizes ones physical prowess, cognitive ability, and preparedness; a perfect hobby for a detail oriented person such as myself. Another hobby of mine is skiing. Seeing as how I’ve lived in the mountains of Utah, it’s no wonder I’ve taken up skiing as one of my hobbies. With skiing, I’ve found an outlet to progressively challenge myself at a steady pace.

Given my work-ethic, determination, and willingness to do what needs to be done to succeed, I believe I’d make a big impact on any team that decided to pick me up.
