Personal Statement
As a sophomore, I am 6'3. My dad is 6'6 and I have been projected to be near his height. My freshman high school varsity coach was my coach since I was in 5th grade and worked with me consistently through extra city leagues and tournaments for 4 years. This year, I made the switch from a charter school to my local high school to be coached by Nate Austin, a BYU basketball alumni, and assistant coach. The change has brought new challenges and increased by stamina and ability 10 fold. I am currently a starter and a leading scorer, assist maker, and rebounder on the JV team. I am also part of the varsity line up with different roles including finding the open passing lanes, shooting from anywhere on the court, as well as utilizing my height to box out and rebound. I am willing to work hard, watch hours of game film, and take coaching any time I can get it. I am not afraid to ask what I can do to improve.
As a student, I am also not afraid to work. I previously attended a rigorously academic charter high school, and continue to uphold those standards of high academics in my public school education as well. I am already enrolled in concurrent enrollment classes and will continue with AP classes as well. I consistently maintain a 3.6 cumulative GPA. I look forward to working with and developing athletes myself as a coach in the future and look forward to gaining an education that will help me achieve that goal.
