My name is Denis LeCours and am currently a junior at Hazen Union High School in Hardwick, Vermont. I've been playing basketball since I was 7 and have always dreamed about playing college basketball. I will be a good fit in any basketball program that gives me the opportunity because I am a very well rounded player who is unselfish, hardworking, and dedicated. I always give my teammates and coaches respect. In addition to putting the team before myself, I will do as much as I need to in order to achieve a goal. I consider my team as a second family where relationships are built on trust, and always treat teammates as if they are my brothers. I will fit in time to practice and get better outside of team practice. I am always in and around the gym whether that be before school, during lunch, in between practices, late at night after everyone else goes home, or even helping at other practices. I do all of these things because I know that nothing will ever be handed to me, and in order to achieve what I want in life I must put in as much hard work as it takes to make it possible even if it might be a temporary inconvenience. As a Freshman on varsity I set the school record for points scored in a quarter with 24 in the second at Stowe. I also participate in two other sports, baseball and soccer. Last soccer season I was one of only two juniors named to the VT All-State team as the goalie. I am not only a determined athlete, but also a dedicated student. I have a 3.32 GPA, take honors courses and even AP Bio as a junior. I love playing basketball. It is my motivator to excel in the classroom and to be the best that I can be. For me the values and lessons I learn playing on a sports team transfer into the classroom, and hopefully the workforce after graduation.
