Personal Statement
I am a multi-sport athlete. Growing up, I played basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. In high school, I stopped playing soccer after my sophomore year as I wanted to spend the fall preparing for the upcoming basketball season and focusing on academics. I really enjoy lacrosse and I continue to play that sport in the spring.
Basketball has always been my favorite sport and a big part of my life. I have spent countless hours in the gym playing, watching my sister play, or watching my dad coach. I started playing as soon as I was old enough to join a youth rec team. I come from a basketball family. My dad played in college and has coached basketball for many years. I was recently able to watch my sister play in college and this further strengthened my desire to continue to play at the next level. Both she and my dad always speak highly of their experiences as college student-athletes.
As I begin to plan for college, I am excited for that same opportunity. I am eager to focus solely on basketball, as I believe that my best years are in front of me. I look forward to playing with kids that have the desire to compete at a higher level and to be surrounded by teammates and coaches that will push me to be my best on and off the court.
