Personal Statement
Hello my name is William Norwood, a varsity basketball player at CD Hylton High school in Woodbridge, VA. We are currently on a 5 game winning streak heading into the conference and regional playoffs in a few weeks. My impact on the team and the game is as a baseline to baseline high speed point guard with aggressive defensive pressure full court, the ability to consistently find the open man while running multiple offensive sets and to break a defender down off the dribble to the paint where all types of options open up. I enjoy the challenge of defending the opposing teams best player doing my best to reduce his impact on the game like working to take a charge to create a turnover. As long as we win, my personal stats aren't important.
I love the game of basketball and have decided to take my future in this game very seriously as I strive to play on the collegiate level to forward my education. I want to be an electrical engineer, so schools with Applied Math, Physics and Engineering programs interest me.
During the 2016 tournament season I played with Higher Level 16U Elite. We competed well and won a few tournaments including Boo Williams in Hampton. I also attended several elite camps to improve my basketball skills including ball handling, accurate passing, shooting, rebounding and increasing my basketball IQ. This 2017 tournament season I will play AAU with Higher Level 17U Gold.
I take basketball very seriously that is one of the reasons that I signed up for this website. I am a good add to anyone's team. I am an on the floor leader, a good teammate, a coachable, active listener and a team first player. I hope that you will find me to be a great pick for your team
