Personal Statement

I started playing basketball in the 4th grade in my local recreational league. Playing my 4th and 5th grades respectively. I started playing AAU basketball in the summer of my 5th grade year and since that summer season I have been devoted to basketball and wanted to play at a higher level in highschool, collegiate level and beyond. My goal can only be achieved by working hard and always practicing. I feel ready and willing to play on the next level. I am a point guard who can play shooting guard if needed. I can drive and kick or I can score at the rim. What makes me different from other recruits is my attitude and always giving my all on the court and off the court. I am very coachable and always willing to learn.

Off the court, I study hard and maintain an above average GPA. I also volunteer at my local church (Eastridge, Issaquah) for VBS (Vocational Bible School) for the youth basketball camp held every summer.

-All players will play in at least 3 games. Every player will play at least half of each game. College coaches will be invited to watch each game. -Every player will participate in a skill session led by our Showcase Director. All Showcase Directors are college or professional coaches. -Every player will be evaluated and these evaluations get sent to coaches nationwide. All games are filmed. Jamal Crawford's 3rd Annual Community Giveback Basketball Camp - 2018

Your child has been awarded a full scholarship to attend Jamal Crawford's 3rd Annual Community Giveback Basketball Camp! A camp like this could usually cost a family $375 per child to attend, but this year Coach Jamal is picking up the tab! Jamal has hired one of the premier skill trainers in the country in Chris Hyppa (www.ChrisHyppaBasketball.com) to direct the event. Lunch will be provided EACH day to all participants. If you and your family have been following Jamal's career, you would know he's taken his philanthropy as serious as scoring baskets. This event was created from a memory of a very young Jamal seeing some of his peers not have a functional pair of shoes to attend grade school in. After discussing with his family, Jamal and his mother decided to sacrifice 2 pairs of his shoes he seldom wore. Yes, he was still able to fit them and NO they were not the shoes he cut the grass in. He reached in the back of his closet and gave 2 of his classmates/peers a pair of his lightly worn shoes. He tells the story about seeing their faces light up with the appreciation for 2 pairs of shoes he owned but hardly worn. JC remembers those kids wearing those sneakers every day and cherishing them like he never would! That planted a seed for this event 25+ years later. It taught him the lesson of being willing to sacrifice to help others. We all have that pair of shoes in the back of the closet that we BARELY or have no intention of wearing again. Those are the shoes we're requesting you donate. Shoe donation instructions: 1. Each participant must bring a pair of new or LIGHTLY worn athletic shoes to DONATE to attend this event(not brand specific). All shoes must be submitted by August 28th(time & location to be announced in August. Our partners from Worldvision will be there to help collect the shoes. PLEASE bring your donated shoes in a box(doesn't have to be the original box) with the size of the shoes displayed outside the box. 2. Once we receive your donation your child will be giving an event shirt with his/her check-in times for the start of camp on September 1st. YOUR CHILD MUST WEAR THE EVENT SHIRT ON THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP. ONLY one shirt will be issued per child. The event shirt will get your child into the gym. If you're unwilling to donate a pair of shoes your child WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND. This is a community event with a purpose of giving back. 3. The Jamal Crawford Family Foundation & Worldvision will be donating all the collected shoes and over 1500 backpacks to local families in need for this upcoming school year. All participating players will be provided an opportunity to improve their skill level and compete against top athletes locally and nationally. The primary focus of this camp is to educate and teach high school players what it takes to be successful at the next level. Campers will have the opportunity to interact with a combination of our coaching staff and current and former players. All campers will receive a camp shirt.

Jamal Crawford Cross Over Basketball Camp Training with the Stars gives young basketball players the opportunity to train with their favorite NBA player — Jamal “J-Crossover” Crawford! This fantasy-like event is constructed to give each participant the Jamal Crawford training experience. With the help of the Elite Youth Camps staff, Crawford will combine some of his favorite drills that helped propel him into the player he is today. Jamal will be present co-directing the group! These camps are recommended for boys and girls with three or more years of playing experience.
