Personal Statement
My name is Carson Wrightson, I am 6’8 195lb. I am a power forward for my Varsity High School team, and have been playing basketball ever since I was able to dribble and shoot a ball. As a Freshman in High school, I had the opportunity to float, but I didn't want to just float. So I pushed myself as hard as I could that off season, working toward that starting roll, and my hard work paid off. I started both my Sophomore and Junior seasons. My Sophomore season, we won our conference championship for the first time in over 20 years! It's the craving of taking a State Title that has been pushing me to better myself both mentally and physically in the game. I train for basketball year round, with my AAU team and some of my teammates...when we get bored it's a quick hey lets go to the gym and 3 hours later we are all struggling to move! Over the years basketball has become my passion and love. From my game day breakfast to which shoe I put on first for the game...there is nothing that compares to the feeling I get on the court. It's a time to leave everything behind, you walk into that locker room and nothing else matters, all the stress of anything is shed off when you put on that uniform and it's game time.
Most things worth doing never go quite the way they were planned.
The challenge is to ignore the distractions, overcome the obstacles and stay focused on the goal.
