Personal Statement
Senior Awards: First Team All-Conference (repeat) , Team Captain, Leadership Award, MVP, Leader Assists, Leader Steals.
As a freshman varsity player, Coach Salazar planned for me to be the starting PG as a sophomore for 2019-2020. I started five games for my team and was named rookie of the year. Then, I played a very successful season as starting PG for my 2019 U15 Washington Supreme team with well-rounded stats. Assists, blocks, deflections, steals and rebounds are as important as points to me as a PG. My career was temporarily derailed due to a wrist injury so I was very disappointed to miss my entire sophomore HS season. It was humbling and discouraging sitting on the bench as my team struggled, but I went to every practice, trained with my cast on, and worked on my left every day. I recovered in time to make Team Lavine Adidas Gauntlet U17 when the CoronaVirus paused the season. Determined to use my time wisely, I trained 3 times a week with my physical trainer and 3-4 times with my basketball trainer, and now I am better than ever and playing for Team Lavine out of state. My high school season finally started Spring 2021 and I started as the point guard and team leader on the court. We went to playoffs and I was chosen 1st Team All-Conference, team MVP, and leader in assists, steals, and blocks. Summer 2021, I made the Top20 Team at Elite100 WCE Camp. My goal is to play college ball for a team that needs an all-around contributor and all-in teammate like me.
