Personal Statement
Other than academics, basketball is my focus on and off the court. My goal is to get better every day. In 9th grade, I left my comfort zone and enrolled at a high school 30 miles away from my home to play varsity basketball. I was a starting point-guard on the Varsity team in the 9th grade. I was the starting combo guard during my sophomore year. I led my team for the first time in school history to the GISA State Tournament by knocking off the #4 seed. That experience helped me to learn the value of leadership, teamwork, commitment, and never giving up. I knew I had a lot more to learn and I transferred 450 miles away to Huntington Prep, WV for my junior year so that I can develop to a higher more elite level as a player. The move has made me an even better and more mature player and person.
I am dedicated to the game, I love basketball. I am coachable: I listen and execute. I am committed and willing to make sacrifices to improve my game and my team.
I graduated from Huntington Prep in May 2018 with a 3.3 GPA. I'm looking for a college program that I will be able to contribute to immeadiately since I'm a good sharp shooter and a good defensive player. I am also dedicated to continue to develop my skills and get a little better every day to become a GREAT player. Even though I love basketball, my goal is to get my degree. I believe that I have the talent to be competitive in the NCAA. My Coach tells me all the time that I have great character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on a college program.
I love basketball and I am enjoying my basketball journey and would like to continue playing basketball on a competitive level during college and beyond.
