Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Cyle Steffl and I am currently a Junior at Iowa-Grant. When talking about my collegiate goals, the biggest thing would be being able to make a roster and help create or continue a winning culture at the college level. My desire to be able to take basketball past the high school level is a dream of mine since I was young. However, I equally want to pursue a college that can offer me a great educational experience as well. Basketball has given me many opportunities and is a crucial part of my life and is the reason I wish to get an education in sports science or training. I think I would make a great addition to your team because I have an unmatched work ethic, am easily coachable, and learn quickly. I also am willing to admit my flaws and work to be better in every single game by watching film and taking advice from others. I personally believe in creating a strong team connection and never want to be a selfish player. I feel I am easily approachable, kind to all, and have a light-hearted personality that can keep spirits up on and off the court. Academically, I take school as seriously as working on my game because I know college is just as about getting a degree for the future as anything else. Although I may not be the fastest, strongest, or tallest player, I will definitely outwork everyone around me because hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard.
