Personal Statement

My name is Jonathan Jesus Osorio. I was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin, but I am Puerto rican. I go to St.Anthony Highschool and I am currently a 5'7 point guard. I can do a little bit of everything. I am pretty lengthy, and am able to shoot from three, midrange. finsih with contact and rebound pretty good as well as defend anybody on the court. Being born into the ministry really was a blessing. Growing up in church and being able to have my parents as pastors and as great role models in my life growing up. That really influenced me a lot growing up. Made me learn how to become who I am today. It all started when I was about 4-5 when I first touched a basketball. The second I grabbed that ball I instantly fell in love with the game. Playing since elementary, taking my talents to middle school and then taking my talents to high shool. Where i was doubted a lot because of how small I was and that never brought me down, instead it motivated me and made me push myself even more to become the best or at least close to the best I can be in highschool. From playing the sport of basketball I have learned so much from myself. How I am so patient, a leader, someone that cares for others and makes sure they are good, someone who is well organized and off the court someone who is intelligent and has a lot of faith in God.

Me currently being a senior right now, my goal is to pass my first semester with a clean 4.0 or 3.8 and then come back for my second semester and be able to graduate with a 4.0. For college my goal is to be able to be accepted and be able to get my major that I want and continue my basketball career. Being christian is not very easy. Yes, life is hard and I along with my family have had to overcome many obstacles to be able to be where we are as a family and where I am right now. It took a lot of sacrafices, but just like Phillippians 4:13 says " I can do all things through christ who strengthens me." That verse of the bible, along with many others, have motivated me and my family and having our faith in God has helped us continue this path.

Some unique characteristics that I bring are simply being fun and having humor. I like to cheer people up and laugh and have fun in general. Why live a boring life when you can have a very fun and chill one with people like me. Life is very short and we have to learn to appreciate it and chase our dreams. I am a leader, I make sure that I am organized with first of God, my family and my education, my coach and my teammates. I make sure that everything is well prepared and oragnized. I mkae sure that I am doing my work in and out of school and make sure that I am also working hard on that court and making sure my teammates are on task. I bring motivation to the team, I bring confidence, I bring that energy and that mood to want something bad. Like when we are at a game I make sure before we go out there we are all prepared to fight this battle with faith and confidence in oursleves, make sure that before me my teammates and coach is good and ready to go. Above it all, I am a senior young 17 year old christian pentecostal teenage boy from Milwaukee Wisconsin, who is just trying to do what I was destined for. What God sent me to do, I will keep working hard and pushing myself each day to be the best I can, Until I reach my goal.
