I have been golfing ever since I picked up a club at 2 1/2 and grew my love for the game ever since. My love for golf is so strong because I have realized how truly great it is: the great respect and etiquette the sport has is like no other. When it comes to the game and specifically the team aspect, I try to earn the respect of all my teammates to uplift us as players and bring the team closer. When I have to deal with pressure I try to remember how I felt playing at a time I didn't have any pressure, and this allows me to calm down and execute the shots I need. Any good golfer knows that you have to deal with disappointment and I do this by going over what I did wrong and I make sure to remember to not make the same mistake. I tell myself that "the shot already happened and that cannot change" and I remind myself that letting that disappointment get to me will only make the next shot worse.
As I move forward in my thinking of higher education, I highly value the academic reputation of the university and I strive to challenge myself in all facets of the classroom and golf course. I have been taking higher level classes to prepare for college and study a major in biology (Biochemistry) or a business/marketing major. I would love to be able to play golf for a great school while furthering my education in either field. I play golf so much and of course I have bad rounds, and it is in those rounds were I have built my strongest connection to golf. Because it gives me great motivation for the next round and I realize why I play this great sport and why I practice so hard to be good at it.
