Personal Statement
Dear Coaches,
My name is Carl Miltun and I am a 2020 recruit hailing from Gilbert Arizona. I currently attend Williams Field High School where I am a Junior.
I started playing golf just 6 years ago where I immediately fell in love with the sport. Since then I have lowered my scoring average each and every year and grown my love for the game. Golf is a game that I wish to continue to pursue beyond just my preliminary years of highschool. I am frequently described as being driven and self motivated when trying to accomplish a goal. Along the way I have set various smaller goals with the end goal in mind of becoming a collegiate golfer.
As much as I make golf a priority and focus in my life I set my academics and extra curricular actives at the top alongside golf to make sure that I am participating in actives to enhance me both as a player and person in the post highschool years. Currently I am enrolled in 1 honors course and 3 AP courses. I have maintained a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a class rank of 12 out of more than 500 peers. I have high levels of interest in mathematics and science which is the general fields I hope to study in college. In addition to my rigorous academics I take part in clubs on my campus such as NHS, Link Crew, and Student Senate. All while working at the local golf club near my house a few times a week. The level at which I have to manage my time is something that I think will help my transition into college golf. By prioritizing a busy schedule I am able to maximize my experience on and off campus.
