My name is Alex Vekich. I’m 17 years old and I have loved the game of golf all my life. Starting when I was a toddler playing with plastic clubs in my basement, moving on to today where I have graduated from plastic to real clubs, my passion for golf is ingrained in me. I am in my junior year at Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, AZ. I am a hard worker in everything I do. I play or practice golf just about every day. After school, I bike to and from the golf course with my clubs on my back - in Arizona, that means it is sometimes over 100 degrees outside.
My hard work is not limited to the golf course, at Desert Mountain High School I carry a 3.9 GPA. I am currently taking AP and Honors courses.
I have worked hard to lower my handicap, stay in top physical condition and understand the nuances of golf. No matter where my education leads me, golf will be a part of my life.
