Playing golf since I was 11, I couldn't wait for High School golf to start and be a part of a team after playing in individual tournaments for so long. Going in, I was nervous and didn’t know how I would fit in on the team. Being a part of this team has been one of the best things of my life. The past few years, our team has been competitive, but not near the championship team we strive to be. It is very easy to get down on yourself when you aren't the one bringing home the hardware every year. Although, not winning was probably better for me overall. I have learned patience, empathy, leadership, and a better understanding of how I can help the guy next to me.
Overall, the skills and characteristics I have gathered from this team will make me a better person in the future, and not just in golf, but in society. A good college where I can pursue my career and play the game I love is the most important thing to me at this point in my life. Over the next year in High School I will strive to make my team better, not only myself, and make my time in High School count for what's up next.
