Personal Statement
I plan on getting an engineering degree and would love to play golf at a collegiate level.
Since having access to my local country club as an employee, I have consistently improved going from a nine handicap to a 1.9. I have been recognized as a leader by my peers and adults, both on and off the course. I maintain my composure on the course no matter how the round is going and help my teammates relax and stay on game. I am a team player and a focused competitor.
Academically, I am on an Honor's tract, taking AP courses, SMART Core, and dual enrolled taking half the day at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith after my morning at the high school. I have maintained at 4.0GPA through my Junior year. My ACT in December was a 28.
While I realize many applicants are involved in the game, I am dedicated to improving, am coachable, and work DAILY on my game which has yielded positive results from the consistency. I was selected as a junior player for the Pebble Beach Nature Valley Open and had the experience of a lifetime playing there in Oct-November of 2014. Last July I was in Wake Forest near Winston-Salem, NC as one of 24 selected for the PLAYer's Advanced Academy, plus had the fun of a hole-in-one in tournament play also in July. At the PLAYer's Advanced Academy, I was also selected for the Dr. William Powell Outstanding Leader Award.
