Personal Statement

Values & Goals: I believe in the pursuit of excellence with integrity and tenacity in all aspects of my life. The game of golf offers unmatched mental, emotional and physical challenges to demonstrate my character in both successes and failures. I enjoy practicing, competing and winning individually but find contributing to the success of a winning golf team equally rewarding because of the camaraderie and the opportunity to challenge my teammates in pursuit of a common goal.

My immediate achievable goals are to win a state championship both as a an individual and a team and finish in the top 5 in all Colorado events, earning the top JGAC golfer in the State of Colorado. Working to improve my game every day, my longer-term goals are to win as a team and an individual at the college level, while I earn my college degree. I would be an accountable and exemplary member of any college golf team. I dream of playing golf at the professional level and enjoy the hard work that goes into making it happen.

Because this was a qualifier, I knew I had to press on the back 9. I was 2 over after 15. I took some calculated risks on 16, 17 and 18 to lower my score which resulted in 2 double bogeys on final 3 holes. Played better than a 78. Shot 1-over (37) on front 9 and 5-over (41) on back nine for round of 78. Finished T24. 9 Fairways, 9 Greens, 29 Putts. North American Junior Amateur AZ

The North American Junior Amateur begins with a two day stroke play event. After the conclusion of day two, the top male and female will be awarded stroke play champion. The field is then but to 32 Boys and 16 girls* for a match play event. Day 3 will start with 16 Boys matches and 8 Girls Matches. These matches will be 9 hole matches. The field will then be cut in ½ and another nine hole match will follow. The same format will occur on Day 4. The final day will be host to the top two Boys and Girls who will face off in an 18 hole match that will identify the North American Junior Champion.
