Personal Statement

To whom it may concern,

My name is Ryan Mason Forant, I attend Horizon High School in Thornton, Colorado. I am in the class of 2025 and I am very interested in playing collegiate golf when I leave high school. I have played golf since I was 3, my first ever golf memory was when my dad set up plastic cups in my living room to create a golf course with little plastic golf clubs. Since then I've taken golf lessons with various PGA professionals, played in the JR PGA, went to Pebble Beach to learn from coach Jeff Ridder through Nike Golf Camps, helped coach our school's girl's golf team, became the team captain for the boy's team, worked at my local golf course, and made unforgettable memories and connections through golf. Since my freshman season, I have dropped 20+ strokes in my game and I am still working hard to drop more. I am in love with golf and I am willing to do anything to win.  I am a 5.5 handicap and I have a goal by next school season to be a scratch golfer. I will bring energy, a hard-working attitude, humbleness, and most importantly focus on the game of golf to your golf team. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and would love to talk to you more about your golf team.

Sincerly,

Ryan Mason Forant

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Front Range League Match #3
  • 8/29/23 to 8/29/23
  • I played a really strong round after struggling all season. I found 13 of the 14 fairways, and 13 greens in regulation. I struggled with the putter, not able to capitalize on great approach shots. All around this round was a step in the right direction after struggling for the past few events and ended up shooting a 79.
  • Camp/Event
  • US Kids Local tour, Quail Dunes GC
  • 10/09/22 to 10/09/22
  • Placed second with an 83, a 45 on the front, and a 38 on the back. The round started off with below-freezing temperatures and warmed up throughout the day. Drove a few greens on the back and I was able to capitalize with great chips to put some birdies on the scorecard.
  • Camp/Event
  • Nike Sports Camp at Pebble Beach
  • 7/23/22 to 7/28/22
  • I was able to learn from a top 50 golf coach in the world, Mr. Jeff Ridder and I was blessed to be able to practice and play at multiple of pebble beach's top facilities.
  • Camp/Event
  • Gold Crown Junior Golf Association, Overland Park GC
  • 7/12/22 to 7/12/22
  • Overall I shot an 80, with a few blow-up holes, started the front with a 44, and then bounced back with 3 birdies to shoot even on the back. Ended up placing tied for 4th with a very rocky scorecard.
