Placing at state my Junior year was certainly the highlight of my high school career. But I was not able to get to that point without learning a great deal about myself and the game of golf. After growing 3 inches and gaining 15 pounds during my Sophomore year, the 2019 summer season came with great ball control difficulties. I needed to learn how to control not only my ball, but my mental state at all times. Through my initial losses this season and rising above those in constant improvement, I have learned the values of open mindedness and work ethic. This translated into an excellent mindset in the classroom.
This sport develops more in a person than the joys of winning. Without the watchful eyes of referees and the game’s consistent isolation, an athlete must develop virtues such as honesty and integrity both of which are increasingly rare attributes. I am looking for a program where integrity comes first. I know that after being chosen as MVP and team captain for two consecutive years, golfer of year for 2019 and participating in two varsity sports, I am prepared to make a difference to your program!
