Emil Nielsen '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Emil Nielsen and I am part of the 2024 graduation class. I am born in the US but my parents are from Iceland. I speak Icelandic fluently and I often visit there. I am currently attending IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. My scoring average is 73 and it is constantly improving. I have played golf since I was young but I didn’t start focusing on it until I was about 10. I practice hard and have done well at national tournaments for many years now.  My best tournament result is at the Florida Challenge Junior World Qualifier. I shot 64(-8), 74(+2), and 66(-6) to finish at -12 total. I came in 2nd, 1 shot behind first.

My junior golf scoreboard ranking is  972 and I am currently ranked 2nd in my state for the 2024 grad class.  My  goals are to go through college and then make it to the PGA tour. I want to win many tournaments and be number 1 player in the world. 

Juggling both academics, golf and being independent in a boarding school has taught me to stay focused and disciplined. I am an honor student and graduated middle school with straight As. I was accepted into the Junior Honor Society in 2020.
