Taner Banks '19 Recruiting Profile

Nearly four years ago, just starting high school and unsure of what I wanted to do in life, my father sat me down and talked to me about trying to play golf because of his past success in the sport (played for the University of Cumberland, the Canadian tour, and then the Hogan tour- which is the WEB.com tour now). He started me off with lessons from Crane Lakes Country club head pro/local PGA tour player Rod Perry.  After my first lesson that's when I knew I wanted to play golf for the rest of my life. Now that my high school years are coming to an end, I aspire to play college golf. I have been working towards that goal since sophomore year as I practice almost everyday and hours upon hours at a time. My part time employment includes me working at a golf club so I can get as much experience, exposure, and education as possible. I describe myself as being very determined, assertive, but also as a team player. My drive and work ethics have always carried me and put me in the position I am now.
