Personal Statement

    My name is Jed Durda. I am a Junior (class of 2019) attending Sickles High School in Tampa, FL. Golf has been a passion of mine ever since I picked up a club as a toddler. However, I only made it my main sport about three years ago. Quitting baseball at 14 and focusing on golf allowed me to rediscover this passion. Now I am driven to go out and practice hard every day to constantly improve and achieve my personal best. 

    My main golf goal right now is to perform well in high school and make it to the Florida state high school tournament. As for the future,  playing college golf and bettering myself there for future tours and opportunities is what I would like to do. My goal is to find a college that is competitive both on and off the golf course. I pride myself on not only working hard on the golf course, but in the classroom as well; so, a college that challenges me in both aspects is ideal. No matter what situation I am in, whether it be academic, family, or athletic challenges, my perseverance gets me through, and that is what is unique about me.
