Personal Statement
I have been involved with sports my entire life. I have played baseball, basketball and golf. I have enjoyed them all, and I have learned what it takes to succeed as an athlete and as a person. I have played golf since I was 11 years old, while playing basketball and baseball almost my whole life. Golf is the sport that I have enjoyed the most and have the greatest passion for.
I started playing for fun, but I knew shortly after I began playing I wanted to gain more knowledge and improve my golf game. I took lessons when I was in Junior High School. I began to play in local tournaments in the summer. The first tournament I ever played in When I was in 8th grade I shot 134 and was dead last. Many would have given up, but this just fueled my desire to improve.
My profile illustrates my improvement and development into a solid, consistent golfer. I truly enjoy the game of golf and my goal is to build a career in the golf industry. A PGA pro, turf management, a representative for an golf equipment company, or even some day to play on the PGA tour. This is just a few ways that I would like to be involved in the golf industry. I would like to either be a Business or Turf Management major during school to help me achieve these goals.
Determination, dedication, and a desire to never accept less than my best is how I have continued to grow personally. I believe that failure only creates success. Each setback will only help me improve upon myself as an athlete, student, and as a person. The only way to get better is to get back up, even if you continue to fall. I continually seek input from those around to improve myself as a member of society and as an athlete. I am a positive, pleasant person to be around, and I am well respected in my community by coaches, neighbors, and fellow golfers. I do my best to represent my school and community in the best way possible at all times.
When I become part of a team I take it seriously. I do everything that I can to perform at my best and contribute as much as possible. I am confident that if I am involved with a college golf program I could make a great contribution to the success of the team. I thank you for taking time to review my credentials. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Grant A. Morse
