Personal Statement

I have always found perfection in balance. The holistic education system in the United States encompassing athletics and sports would help me grow to be a well-educated, independent, and proficient adult. 

I have excelled at academics so far in high school. I have maintained a high GPA and shall strive to continue to do so. The subjects which excite me are Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, and Chemistry. A student of science in grades 11-12, I keenly look forward to pursuing academic interests in the above field. I have taken part in various science quizzes and fests as well as been in charge of the organization of a science fair as well.

Playing golf produces a strong feeling of pride in me and gives birth to a dream and a longing to compete at the highest level: the PGA tour. This passion has led me to believe that collegiate golf in the United States would be ideal for me to pursue this dream. With surreal competition, collegiate golf would be a great exposure and push me to the peak of my ability. I play on the main IGU junior circuit in India and hold a national ranking of 20th so far with a year to go to build upon. I have made considerable progress in my game in the last few years, especially putting, and I intend to work hard to lower my averages. My best round stands at a 67 so far and in the United States, I look forward to breaking that personal record.

I also take part in other extracurricular activities like debating, Model UN, elocution, dramatics, and sports like soccer and basketball. I am fond of writing essays, reports, and other methods of articulating my opinions. 

I have been selected and appointed as the "School Captain"  for the year 2023-2024 at my School La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata,  for my all round excellence in academics, sports, and public speaking and theatre. It is an honor and I am extremely grateful to hold this highly esteemed position and lead the entire prefectural body of  my school of 3500 students.

I Received Founder's Medal for the Best All Round Student 2023 ( awarded in Senior Year) at the 188th Founder's Day at La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata in September 2023.

 For an all-round student like me, pursuing education and playing golf at the collegiate level in the United States would be a dream come true.

On the second day, I was 8 over after 6 holes following a disastrous start. I then fought back to finish the round 8 over. Similarly, on the 3rd day i was 7 over after 7 holes and managed to finish 7 over.

  • Finished 2nd in the amateur category with scores of 76 and 74. The Course played over 7300 yard in this tournament. With this performance I was selected to represent West Bengal in the amateur and professional Indian National Games. I narrowly missed out on the victory by a shot after a neck to neck encounter.

  • It was a privilege to play my first professional event, as an amateur, at my home club in Kolkata. I shot scores of 72 and 77 in the highly competitive and sophisticated environment. Although the cut was 1 under par in 2 days, I learnt a lot from this experience. It was a push beyond my comfort zone and into a field of excellent players. I am glad I managed to perform upto reasonable expectation

  • I played 67, 72, and 70 (par 70) at this event to miss the 1st position by 1 shot. I finished second after an exciting battle on the final day. The highlight of the tournament was my bogey free 3 under par round. With a score of 209, this was also my first under par finish over 54 holes. I also made 3 consecutive birdies to recover from 3 bogeys and keep the hunt for the trophy alive. It was a brilliant experience and a good finish

  • Won the best gross for the Club Championship Challenge Silver Bowl with a even par score of 70... Hit 14 greens in total during this round and clinched the win with a crucial 25 foot birdie putt on the 17th Hole. Made 3 birdies in total.

I narrowly missed out on a podium finish at the national level. I finished 287 (7 over par) over the course of 4 days.
