Personal Statement
Hi, my name Is Wyatt Adams. I have grown up playing multiple sports. However in the most recent years golf has become my main focus as far as sports is concerned. I still enjoy playing ice hockey on my high school team, but I am now dedicated to playing golf at the college level. My dedication to golf is growing everyday with the drive to play as much as possible. Over the past two years my game has come a long way. My handicap has dropped to single digits, due to the amount of practice and professional instruction I have received.
I have been a two year varsity member for my high school team, and my junior year I qualified as an individual for the state tournament. August 2020 I won the South Portland Junior Open 18 hole tournament with a one over par 67. This tournament was at a local municipal course and had many area high school golfers in the field.
Recently I have moved to Florida and will be going to Land O Lakes High School, and trying out for the golf team. I am currently volunteering at the junior golf program at Plantation Palms Golf Club lead by the head pro Andrew Dawes. I have volunteered for three summers at the municipal course junior program to help grow the game of golf back in Maine. During the summer of 2020 I organized some of my high school teammates to play in two team tournaments offered by the MSGA.
Going into the start of my senior year of high school I have been able to keep a 3.4 GPA, while taking multiple honors and AP classes. My goals are to be the best teammate and player that I can be at the college level. I am looking forward to the recruitment process and finding the right school and team for me.
