June 2021Personal Statement
I am a sophomore at the Urbana High School in Frederick MD. I have been playing golf since I was 7 years old and have been through many different junior golf tours such as AJGA, Mid-Atlantic PGA, Hurricane, Buckeyes, and US Kids Golf. I’ve learned so much through these tournaments in term of mental toughness and course management. I have been able to meet new friends and people from different parts of the world.
I have been on my high school varsity golf team for the last two years. Having played high school golf has helped me learn the important of teamwork and leadership.
I have been a member of the First Tee of Howard County for the past three years and I am currently in the ACE level, where I am in position to help coach younger members of the chapter and help them grow in the game of golf. Below are some highlights of my achievements this year:
- Voted as Frederick Golfer of the Year 2021
- Won Maryland State High School Team Championship 2021
- T3, Boys Individual, Central Maryland Conference (CMC) High School Championship 2021
- Boy Individual Champion of Frederick County High School Championship 2021
Besides golf, I’ve been a member of Urbana High School Varsity Swim Team for the past 2 years and am a year-round swimmer with the YMCA since I was 6 years old. I believe swimming help me with conditioning and mental strength to be an elite competitive golfer.
