Personal Statement
My ultimate goal is to be a valued member of a Division I golf team during college. My dad got me started playing golf from the time I was two years old. I have been building my experience by playing in competitive local, regional and national tournaments since I was six years old. I have improved my athletic skills by playing hockey and baseball on competitive AAU teams, but golf has always been my top sport. I train year-round for golf now, and am ranked #18 in MA for my graduation year. We have been a member at Hopkinton Country Club since I was born, and since I can walk there, if the course is open you can find me there. I have had many exciting things happen as a result of my hard work. This year my high school team made school history by winning the State Championship (D2) for the second year in a row. I also tied for second place in the individual competition portion of the state tournament. I was voted a TVL All-Star by our high school league as well. The prior summer I played in three national tournaments; got an Albatross at an AJGA All Star Qualifier; won the 14-15 year old age group for the US Challenge Cup Francis Ouimet Junior Tournament; and placed as one of the top players on our Varsity High School Golf team as a freshman. Our High School Team won States this year, and I also qualified for States as an individual. Also, my team voted me as the "Rookie of the Year" this year to recognize my success and the Tri-Valley League named me as "Honorable Mention" to the All Star List.
In spite of my success on the course, my goal is to always try to remember to be grateful for the good things my hard work brings to me. I have also learned the value of supporting my teammates, and have seen first-hand how when we all succeed the entire team succeeds.
