Personal Statement
About Me
In the fall of 2019, I will be a Junior at Detroit Catholic Central, a Private College Preparatory School known for its rich tradition in Academic and Athletic Excellence.
Participation in Athletics, is a natural fit for me, because of how much I enjoy sports, and because it has always been a large part of life with my family. My mom swam in college, my dad played college football, and my older sister will swim in college, and my younger sister is a national gymnastics qualifier.
I am a golfer.
I started playing when I was 5 years old, and took group lessons with friends from school. It was then that I learned how fun golf can be, especially when the experience is shared with others. And even though I enjoy practicing and playing by myself, I love being part of a golf team, and plan on doing that during my college years.
Academics
- I received an Academic Scholarship based on scores of my High School Placement Exam
- I take all of the Honors and AP classes available to me
- I received Academic Honors every quarter and every semester

What I do in an effort to Achieve My Goals
- I always stay on top of my school work
- I train several hours, in something for golf, just about every single day of the year
My Team
- My Family - My parents and grandparents in particular offer me great support
- I have an awesome Golf Pro that I work with at Fox Hills Golf and Country Club, Will Ellender - Will has been my primary instructor since I was 5 years old, and he is friends with Mike Bennett, co-author of The Stack and Tilt Golf Swing book, so I get to work with Mike Bennett as well
- I am fortunate to attend a great high school that provides everything I could possibly need in preparing me for college - teachers, strength and conditioning coaches, and a top Golf Program (Head Coach Mike Anderson played D1 Golf and also there are great assistant coaches as well; Coach Anderson has led CC to several State Championships)
