Spencer Shearer '25 Recruiting Profile

I am junior golfer Spencer Shearer from the Class of 2025. I can honestly say from the moment I first picked up a golf club to today, I have always known through the ups and downs that golf is where my heart truly is. No matter the day, weather, or time you can find me on the golf course playing or practicing and that’s what separates me from my peers. I have always been a believer in hard work brings you your goals, they aren’t given to you. This also applies to my hard work in the classroom. I carry a 4.03 cumulative GPA and that is due to the effort I put into the classroom and work at home. Additionally, I have always been known to be a helpful person and leader in my community. I am a member of the Empowering Students to Serve club at my school and National Honor Society. Being a member of both programs gives me multiple platforms to help my community in various ways. Athletically, I have also carried a lot of success in the sport of golf. I have won many different golf tournaments on various tours throughout my golfing career. I carry a USGA GHIN handicap index of +0.4 and a 2023 Scoring Average of 74.2. Both of these stats are reflected in the results I had in tournaments in the past year and also in my career. My goal after college is to continue my golf career as a whole. Whether it be to play competitively on a larger stage, become an instructor, or simply work on or manage a golf course. Overall, I know I will bring a lot to a college golf team based on what I want to accomplish and have already done myself. Whether it be helping my teammates after practice with what they may need, giving them rides to and from tournaments and practices, or even just playing with them I am always striving to be a better teammate. That’s my mission going through college and playing golf is to not only better myself as a golfer but to be able to look back and see how I grew as a student-athlete, person and a teammate.
