Throughout my athletic career I always give my best. No matter what sport, I have always held this value. A great example of this, is when I tried out for the varsity golf team as a 7th grader. I was competing against seniors who could certainly out drive me by a lot. On top of that the weather conditions were not ideal. It was sleeting and raining, and the temperature was barely above freezing. I ended up missing the cut by 1 stroke, but in the end I learned a very valuable lesson. I learned a lot about myself; I was able to play through adversity, had great focus, and believed in myself to compete. This experience demonstrates my work ethic and determination not only in athletics, but also in the class room.
The values I took away from that experience, have guided the way for how I approach every decision. I’m looking a program that is a good fit for me not only athletically but academically too. Although I am from Minnesota I’m completely open to the idea of exploring options outside the region. From a young age I learned to never back down, and always do my best. I feel my hard work ethic, and my never give up attitude, will be a great asset to any college golf team. From my background of high school soccer, basketball, and golf, I know what it takes to play at a high level, and compete.
