Personal Statement
My collegiate goal is to find a golf program where I can spend the next 4 to 5 years being a part of something special. A challenging, competitive environment where everyone is working hard to achieve success both individually and as a team together and where lifelong friendships are developed along the way. I am confident I have the golfing ability, work ethic, demeanor, discipline, time management, decision making and student skills to do my part to make that happen at your program.
In the past couple of years, golf has become my passion; however, I do believe that competing at the varsity level in multiple sports (basketball, baseball and football in addition to golf) has made me mentally and physically tougher than I otherwise would have been and has taught me lessons that I can draw on that will help me succeed as a competitive collegiate golfer. Although I have achieved some recent success in golf (e.g., MN Junior PGA Player of the Year 2021, 3rd in MN High School Class AA State Tourney), I can't wait to be in an environment where I can focus 100% athletically on improving in golf and to find out how good I can become.
Although I have not yet determined what major I want to pursue; my schoolwork /education has always come first which will continue no matter what course of study I ultimately choose.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
Sincerely, Peyton "Peco" Coahran
