Personal Statement
Greetings!
My name is Brock Winter. I am in the 2019 graduating class at Stillwater Area High School in Stillwater, Minnesota. What I enjoy most about the game of golf is the fact that you cannot perfect the game, but only improve. Along with that, I love the experience of meeting new people from all over the world. The winters in Minnesota are extremely cold and, in order, to keep my game in shape, I practice four days a week on Trackman. I am a very dedicated golfer and always very open to the advice coaches provide me.
Accomplishments of summer 2018:
-Finished first with a 70 at the first high school tournament at Forest Hills Golf Course, Forest Lake, MN
-Finished second in an FCWT event with a two-day total of 146 at Timacuan, Lake Mary, FL
-Score of 73 at the MN State Open qualifier at 7,000 yards, Bunker Hills Golf Course, Coon Rapids, MN
This would not have been achieved without the hard work and practice I put in over the past winter and spring. What I believe makes me a good candidate for a coach’s team is the strength I have to achieve success; from academic improvement to a swing change. What makes me unique is the mental attitude I have on and off the golf course. Over time and with extra effort, I have become one of the calmest players on the course you will witness.
My junior year, I finished with a 3.45 GPA. I enjoy taking different kinds of elective classes to determine what may interest me for my future major or career.
In addition to golf, I am a very athletic person. I love almost every sport that involves a stick and a ball. It’s my passion to compete at the highest level possible. During my youth, I played hockey for nine years, which means I love watching the NHL Stanley Cup finals. I also am a part of a discipleship group where I have the opportunity to practice and grow my faith with friends.
