Cole Willyard '21 Recruiting Profile

5 years ago I began playing competitive golf and have been pursuing my dream of playing at a college level. I have been a consistent member of my highschool's Varsity Golf team and competed in state my Sophmore year of high school. Living in Missouri presents some complications for practicing year-round, but I have been able to work around them by using a Golf Simulator in the winter which has allowed me to achieve a swing speed of 110 and gain the ability to hit my driver an average of 295 yards, with my max drive in a tournament being 350 yards. My strong work ethic and my ability to be an amazing team leader will make me one of the hardest working recruits.

I apply this strong work ethic not only to my golf life but also to my academic life as well. I have maintained a 3.8 GPA while enrolling in some of the hardest classes in my school and being in the National Honors Society. Through my many rigorous honors, AP, and Duel Enrolment classes, I have developed a work ethic that often has me applying what I have learned to the real world.  My earliest example of this would be the freelancing of my video-game programming skills to Indie game developers in the eighth grade, but this is one of many.  I also have been  investing in the stock market for about 4 years now,  which has lead me to be the founder of the Business Investors Club at my school.  In addition,  I strive to serve my community offering  30 Hours of volunteer work every year.  My work ethic is the foundation that allows me to become a man of action and someone who will do as much work as needed to complete his goals.
