Personal Statement

At the beginning of my sophomore year, my tournament scoring average goal was to be under 74. I achieved that goal with an end-of-the-year average of 73.9. Currently, I am pleased with where my game is at and how far I have come in the last year as I continue to increase my national tournament participation while managing my school courses so I maintain my GPA. Over the course of this current year, my goal is to be under a 72.5 tournament average and with a JGS Ranking of under 1000. This is achievable for me and I believe I can accomplish these goals before the end of this year. I believe my strong dedication to golf and life in general comes from my faith and the strong support from my family. This is important to me and will continue to be important as I transition into the college education and sports.

This summer I have been able to continue my participation in Met PGA tournaments between my summer work schedule at Maidstone CC. I will be adding more JGS tournaments and more national AJGA tournament participation this Fall and Winter in the California and Nevada regions. I am a goal-oriented person and the goals that I set for myself are what I focus on daily. I feel my leadership and goal-determined qualities will add value to the college and golf team I end up attending. I'm excited about my upcoming years in High School and I look forward to possibly speaking with you. Shot scores of 71- 74 to come T6 out of 54 players. The course played narrow with fairways lined with tall trees that demand good tee shots. The greens played fast and ungulated. the yardage was playing just around 6650 yds.

Michael Hebron Junior Classic
8/07/23 to 8/08/23
First day got cancelled as a result of rain, the second day I shot a score of 68 with 0 bogies and 4 birdies. The course played short at around 6300yds but played really narrow. I finished 1st place out of 56 players and won by 4 shots, definitely a tournament to remember.

7/10/23 to 7/11/23
Completed tournament with scores of 72-73 for a 3 over finish. The course played at around 6500 yds and the wind was moderate both days. I placed in the top 10 out of 52 players for a solo 9th place.

Finished in the top 5 with scores of 74-73 out of 91 players. The Course played at around 6450 yds but definitely was longer with the high winds and rain both days.

Shot 69 for T-1 first day on the East Course playing 6400 yards. Shot 75 the second day for solo 2nd missing 1st by 2 shots on the West Course playing 6700 yards. Both courses were in really rough shape.

Nevada 5A Boys High School State Championship
5/17/23 to 5/18/23
Finished T-5 out of 48 players with scores of 77-73. Yardages were 6900 yds on both days in windy conditions. Had a tough first day but bounced back slightly the next day. The biggest accomplishment was bringing the Douglas High School Boys Golf Team to state for the first time in 51 years!!

NIAA Northern Nevada 5A High School Boys Regional
5/09/23 to 5/10/23
Took 1st place out of 48 players to win the 5A Northern Nevada Regional as a sophomore. Shot 75 1st day in 30-40 mph winds, heading into the final round one back from the lead. Entered the final day one shot off the lead where I would end up shooting 71(-1) to win by 5 shots and win for the 2nd consecutive year in a row. This course was not easy playing 6700 yds with the wind making it a lot tighter and greens being a lot faster.

Finished T5 with scores of 75-74 - Yardage 7020 - Very windy conditions both days.
