Tripten Roberts '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Tripten Roberts I am a Senior in high school, and play on the Hobbs High School varsity golf team. Our team won the state championship in 2021 with a total score of 290 me shooting a 76 placing 8th in the state. To this date this has been the highlight of my team golfing career. On the individual side of my career, I  won the 2021 S.A. Smith (NTPGA Sanctioned Event) in Midland Texas with a 73-67 with 3 under total score. I qualified to play in the Hogan Cup at Shady Oaks in Ft. Worth, TX on the North Texas team.  The Ryder Cup style format taught me a lot about team play and comradery. My 2022 high season was full of ups and downs but I managed to win three tournaments and finish 8th at the Class 5A state tournament  shooting 78-78, and finishing the year with a 73.8 scoring average. My 2023 I finished in top 10 in State tournament. I won the Southeastern New Mexico Junior Open and place in the top ten in several All American tournaments in the Dallas area.

My time on the golf course is teaching me the importance of hard work, which only I can commit to. It has taught me the importance of communication with coaches, teammates, as well as community members that follow my career. It has also shown me the importance of mental strength, and how to control only  the controllable and accept and understand the difference.  I look forward to  using these tools in a college golf career, as well as in life.
