My name is Dean Franzese. I started playing golf during my Sophomore year in high school. What sparked my passion is that I finally found something in life where I could channel all my energy to consistently strive toward perfecting my game. Although it has only been three years since I have started playing golf, I believe that I have the true potential to meet your expectations in order to become a member of a strong college team. I am extremely determined to achieve this goal, in doing so I have dedicated all my free time to improving my game by spending numerous hours on the putting green, at the driving range, and working at the Cold Spring Hill Country Club watching and learning from more experienced players and taking lessons from some of the most prominent golf professionals such as Michael Breed and Jim Weiss.
At this point in my golf game I have worked towards getting as much experience as possible by competing in golf tournaments. The highlight of my junior golf career so far was shooting a round of 69 in the Met PGA Junior PGA Championship. This was the lowest round of that tournament in more then 2 years. During my first year of tournament golf, I shot a 74 and placed first at a tournament at Mill Pond Golf Course. My Junior year of high school I was awarded all county and ranked 10th with a stroke average of 38.6 strokes per 9 holes. I enjoy spending time with others who share the same passion for the game of golf as I do and look forward to being part of a team where I can have a huge impact on a golf team in a very positive way.
Focusing on my golf game has also aided me in prioritizing the importance of school work and improving my grades. Three years ago I moved in with my father and I have attended the same High School for three years. During my formative years I moved around so many times that it was difficult as a young boy to ground myself and put school work first. Now that I am living in a more stable environment I realize that although my grades have improved, I know I have to continue to focus and work extra hard to achieve my goals once I graduate high school.
