My goals as a student athlete are to achieve exceptional grades while having an opportunity to compete as a golfer. I love to learn from experienced players and coaches, which is one reason I believe I'm also a great teammate. I'm passionate about golf and never get tired of playing and training for this sport.
Even though I live in North Dakota I'm lucky to be able to play year round. I purchased a golf simulator two years ago, which I practice on daily. My mentor is a University golf coach who watches my game, helps me, and teaches me to improve technically. By traveling south in the winter I've had a chance to play on some fun courses as well. In December '22, I had a great time playing rounds in Mexico, and in March had fun playing various courses in Florida.
My academic gpa is strong while I've also been focused on multiple sports in high school. My Junior year I've enrolled in multiple college math courses, which makes me confident that I'll be prepared for higher level education and balancing my goals.
I’ve been involved in wrestling, football, and baseball my entire life and finally joined my school’s golf team in 7th grade. I have excelled by making the varsity team and qualifying for the ND state class B golf tournament during my first year. I've improved a lot since my record average at that time and can't wait to keep getting better.
My physical strength and endurance was built through wrestling and daily weight training. Both have helped me improve my skills on the course. I have also gained a lot of mental stamina specifically through my wrestling and football training and competitions. I've won awards during my last few years playing varsity golf, and have qualified to play in the state tournaments each year during my varsity golf career. Last year I placed 14th in the state.
In my free time during the summer I enjoy spending time at the lake and course. When I’m not on the golfing I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. This summer I hope to get a job helping at our local course or one of the courses nearby or in MN.
Thanks for reading my statement. I would love to connect with any coaches who would be interested in talking to me further.
