Ryan Clark '17 Recruiting Profile

I started playing golf around the age of 10 and started playing competitively in 7th grade starting with my High School Varsity team.  I then added playing in our local CNY JrPGA competitions as well as attending summer clinics through the First Tee of Corning NY in 2012.  I believe that dedication to a sport and understanding of the sport is important in order to succeed.  I have worked my way up through my High School team and am currently one of the top golfers on the team.  I was 1st team All- Conference as well as 2nd team All-County and All-Area  and metaled at the Section 4 IAC match in 2015.  I have earned most improved and most dedicated honors by my high school coach over the last 3 years.   

This past winter I organized an indoor winter golf league in my parents garage so that both myself and my teammates had a place to swing all winter in order to be ready for the 2016 season.  Using the Opti Golf system that I purchased through Dick's Sporting Goods it gave the team a chance to bond and kept golf clubs in our hands. The league was 8 weeks long and lasted until the first week of spring high school golf season.   

Starting this year I am also competing on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour and have already earned a top 10 finish and have qualified for the Section 4 NYS Medalist Tournament.  I believe is setting goals and working hard to obtain the goals that I have set.  I believe that this makes me a good competitor and pushes my work ethic both on and off the course.
