Colton Moore '23 Recruiting Profile

Arnold Palmer stated "Success in golf depends less on strength of body than upon strength of mind and character". This is a statement I base my golf game off of. I have never been the biggest or the strongest out on the golf course, but I have and will continue to be mentally stronger than my opponents. At the age of 5 I took my first ever swing and I knew from that moment , golf was what I wanted to do. Growing up I played multiple different sports but golf was the one that grasped my attention. There is something about being apart of a golf team that  truly inspires me to be the best version of myself. Therefore, I welcome all competition from others because that will only push me to be even better. Being a part of my high school golf team has taught me the true meaning of teamwork, accountability, and to embrace all of my future challenges. I believe that all of my defeats and failures have challenged me to find what the true definition of success is. My success has revealed to me when it comes to my character there is nothing more important than my integrity. Although I am very passionate about golf, I'm equally engaged in my academics. My ongoing goal is to graduate high school with honors. I have maintained a 3.4 GPA so far throughout high school, been inducted into the Academic Hall of Fame, as well as a 3 year scholar athlete. I have also been selected and invited to represent my school at The Buckeye Boys State located at the University of Miami , Ohio.  It would be amiss of me if I did not take a moment to recognize without the values and morals engraved in me by my parents, I would not be who I am today on and off the course. I know I have a long way to go and I understand the road ahead might have some bumps along the way, but I am determined to fulfilling my academic endeavors as well as continuing to evolve into a college golfer.
