Personal Statement
I would like to play Division 1 college golf for both the competition and the experience. I know I have the ability to play division 1. I've played with many kids who are going division 1 and I hung right in there with them and even beat them. I'm not a long hitter, I'm not a real big guy but I rely on my iron game and especially my wedge game. Like a Zach Johnson or Luke Donald. I practice hard and practice with a purpose. I work at Oak Shadows Golf Club so I have access to plenty of practice. I have a great instructor out at Oak Shadows, Craig Mcconnell. I'd make a good candidate for a college team because I'm a positive player, a smart player who doesn't make many mistakes and I've only been playing for 5 years so I have a lot more to learn and the chance to really improve my game. I'm different from the other guys once again for my importance on the short game, my positive and laid back attitude and my confidence. I don't like to show emotion on the golf course, anger or excitement. I don't see any reason to get angry, and I don't see a reason to fist pump because I'm expecting the ball to drop every putt. I also take school very seriously. I'm an honors student with a 3.7 gpa and I'm a member of the National Honor Society.I got a 25 on my ACT and I'm working on getting a better score. I know I have the ability to become a great college golfer and to even have this experience typing this letter is very exciting.
