Personal Statement
My name is Jonathan Green and I am from Westerville, Ohio. When I was about three years old I fell in love with the game of golf. At first it was just a game to play with my dad and brother on the weekend, but when I was 10 years old I played in my first U.S kids golf tournament, where I was pleased to shoot a 102. This year, I reached many of my goals in golf. I won my first golf tournament at a Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) event in Pataskala, Ohio. I shot a 79-71-150 to get the victory by one stroke. This fall I played on my high school golf team and finished the season as the number one man on the team, along with the MVP award, all while maintaining a 3.6 GPA. I’m looking forward to improving over the course of the next three years, and continuing to work to achieve my goal of playing golf at the collegiate level. I can offer several different things to a college golf team. For one, I am an extremely consistent scorer. All but one of my high school rounds this year were between 76 and 81. I am a good leader of the team because I encourage everybody on the team to play the best that they can, and I want to be our team captain my senior year of high school. I would like to go to a school where I can play and have an impact on the team. I want to be the person on the team that everyone can rely on to shoot a good score. At this point I am open to any region of the United States. My goals for my golf career are to play all four years and to make a positive impact on the team that I am a part of.
