My name is Ted Hoover and I am in the graduating class of 2023. I have been golfing for the past 8 years and competitively for the past 6. Playing the game of golf for the past 8 years has shown me how much I love the sport and how much dedication I need to put in to reach certain goals throughout the entire year. I am grateful that I live right next to a great golf course which allows me to practice and play a lot more, which has improved my game greatly. I play golf on the varsity team of Massillon Jackson which has one of the best programs and one of the better teams in the state of Ohio. Playing for Jackson allows me to play with some of the best golfers all around the state of Ohio which brings out the best of my game. All of the members of the team are pushing one another to get better but if you have a bad round all of our teammates are there to pick you up and be supportive. That is one of the great advantages of having a great team.
Something that is more important to me than golf is school. As of now I am taking AP, CCP, and honors class in high school and have a GPA of 4.17. Along with school and golf I am a member of student council, National Honors Society, Summa Cum Laude, and I am also a varsity Lacrosse letterman. To go off of all of that I volunteer at the Canton Food Pantry, and give back to the Jackson Youth Lacrosse program. In my free time I love to spend time with my family and friends, fish, hunt, and play basketball.
In the summer I am playing golf or working out 7 days a week doing whatever I can do to improve my game. Once it hits the offseason I am in workouts and conditioning 5 days a week preparing for the Lacrosse season and looking forward to the next golf season. On the weekends in the offseason is when I practice and play to make sure that my Golf game is improving even though I am in a different sport. I believe that with my steady system and making goals to meet all throughout the year I will have a bright future with both academics and golf.
